IRRIGATION MONITORING POINT STREAMGAGING PROGRAM
Williams Production RMT
Lowham Walsh designed and implemented a streamgaging network and automated water quality sampling system throughout the Powder River Basin in order to satisfy existing Irrigation Monitoring Point (IMP) requirements. Water quality and discharge are monitored at single stage and automatically sampled IMP compliance points established by WDEQ. Lowham Walsh installed staff gages and surveyed channel cross sections and slope-conveyance sections to establish stage-discharge ratings. Valid discharge ratings were determined and hydrograph summaries were produced for the associated gage sections. Lowham Walsh is responsible for collecting water samples during the first 24 hours following a flow event to be submitted for laboratory analysis relative to water quality standards. According to IMP requirements, Lowham Walsh also conducts weekly water quality sampling during extended flow events.
