Michael J. Anderson, Mineral Sector Manager
Mr. Anderson received his B.S. in Mining Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. He brings over 35 years of diverse experience in mining engineering in the coal, uranium and gold industries. During this time, he was involved in many environmental studies ranging from simple Environmental Assessments to complex Environmental Impact Statements. Mike has a solid background in mining technology and reclamation including technical and general management, short and long term operational planning, economic pit limit analysis, pit and phase design, cost estimation and analysis, resource estimation, feasibility studies and reserve audits.  His diverse experience has enhanced the abilities of our staff.

Jenni Jo (J.J.) Brown, P.G., Principal Geologist
Ms. Brown is a licensed Professional Geologist in the States of Wyoming and Idaho, and Principal Geologist at Lowham Walsh LLC.  She brings fifteen years of professional experience in geology and geotechnical exploration to Lowham Walsh, including exploration and analysis associated with borrow resource development, mineral resources, oil and gas energy resources, oilfield infrastructure, and waste disposal siting and remediation. Since 2007, J.J. has worked closely with oil and gas industry members and both State and Federal agencies to ensure permit compliance regarding coalbed methane produced-water discharge and impoundment in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin.  As a Registered Member of SME, J.J. is recognized as a Qualified Person according the standards of Canadian National Instrument 43-101, Australian JORC code, and South African SAMREC code.  At Lowham Walsh, J.J. is responsible for project management in a variety of fields relative to the geosciences, including mineral resource exploration and development, solid waste management, and environmental planning and permitting.

Matt Church, Ecologist
Mr. Church received his B.S. in Environmental Economics, and M.S. in Rangeland Ecology & Watershed Management/Environment & Natural Resources from the University of Wyoming. As a rangeland ecologist with Lowham Walsh, Matt directs and conducts project work related to rangeland management.  He works in close coordination with State and Federal regulatory agencies and oil and gas industry members to develop reclamation plans for rangelands disturbed during resource development.  He has 6 years of experience conducting vegetation and habitat inventory, monitoring, and management, and ecological restoration and reclamation throughout the western U.S.  Coupled with a background in farming and ranching, Matt also has experience in livestock and grazing management and ranch economics. He has experience using ESRI GIS software to collect and analyze vegetation data and develop GIS maps and reports for the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).  He also has experience preparing native plant restoration Environmental Assessments and Categorical Exclusions for the BLM.

Gina Colovich, Technical Services Director
Ms. Colovich received her B.A. in Communications from the University of Utah in 1990. She brings 15 years of experience in network administration and engineering to Lowham Walsh LLC, where she currently acts as director of both the computer technology and accounting departments.

Nicholas Czarnecki, P.E., Air Quality Engineer
Mr. Czarnecki is a professional engineer with over 11 years of experience.  For nine years, he worked in the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Air Quality.  In this role, Mr. Czarnecki was responsible for performing technical tasks related to the air quality compliance program within the southwest district of Wyoming, by applying engineering principles and concepts to inspect and evaluate a wide variety of industrial processes and emission control equipment to ensure air quality requirements were met.

Christine Gélinas, Marketing Coordinator
Ms. Gélinas received a B.A. in English from the University of Rochester, and an M.F.A in Creative Writing from Emerson College.  Christine brings over 10 years of marketing experience to Lowham Walsh LLC, where she is responsible for proposal management, creation and design of marketing material, technical writing and editing, document layout and formatting, and webpage maintenance.

Brek Ibach, Hydrologist
Mr. Ibach received his B.A. in Environmental Studies from Montana State- Billings in 2002. Brek became a member of Lowham Walsh’s Watershed Streamgaging Program in 2004, and is currently in charge of all data collection and analysis. Brek also assists on a variety of projects outside of the Streamgaging Program, including projects related to irrigation control and flood analysis.

Lindy Johnson, P.E., Civil Engineer
Ms. Johnson is a licensed Civil Engineer with both an M.S. and B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming.  The majority of Lindy’s project experience has been the management and design of state and local transportation, planning and highway projects.  In addition, she has organized the permitting and design of water management systems including Safety of Dam embankments for the energy industry in the Powder River Basin, WY.  She has also worked to advance engineering education in her role as Assistant Lecturer at the University of Wyoming.

Harry Kessner, P.E., P.L.S., Civil/Geotechnical Engineer, Surveyor
Mr. Kessner received a B.S. degree in civil engineering from the University of Wyoming in 1972.  He recently retired as owner/president of Aspen Mountain, Inc. Engineering and Surveying Services with offices in Rock Springs, Gillette and Sheridan, Wyoming.  His 40 plus years of engineering and surveying experience is broad, and includes engineering management of two large divisions of the Union Pacific Railroad and ownership and management of an engineering and surveying consulting firm.  Harry’s professional expertise includes geotechnical engineering and foundation design.

Jan Kessner, Administrative Assistant
Ms. Kessner provides administrative support to all Lowham Walsh employees.  She updates and maintains reservoir summaries, monitors permit completion deadlines, checks reclamation estimates, scans and files all documents, reviews billing, processes electronic survey notes, and updates tracking sheets.  Prior to Lowham Walsh, Jan worked for the Williams Companies in Green River, WY, where she was responsible for overseeing, guiding, training and unifying the office administrators at the Area office and 4 satellite offices.  Ms. Kessner retired from Williams after 27 years of service.

Hugh W. Lowham, P.E., Lead Engineer
Mr. Lowham received a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering in 1965 from the University of Wyoming, and an M.S. in Civil Engineering in 1979 from Colorado State University. He retired from the U.S. Geological Survey in 1996 after a 31-year career conducting and managing a variety of water-related projects. Since then, he has worked as a consulting engineer. Mr. Lowham has authored numerous scientific publications and has experience in a wide range of hydrologic topics, including data collection, flood hydrology, streamflow modeling, channel stability, and erosion. His goal is to conduct useful high-quality engineering studies that address water-related problems.

Regis Michelena, P.E.
Mr. Michelena is a Professional Engineer with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming and five years of experience in the office, field, and lab. He has designed numerous access roads, pads, pits and reservoirs for the coalbed natural gas industry in Wyoming; performed construction oversight and nuclear density and moisture testing on several pits and reservoirs; conducted soils and concrete testing for projects ranging from residential foundation analysis to power plant construction; and provided on engineering design and analysis for various hydraulic, hydrologic, geotechnical, and construction projects.

Bill Murphy, Survey Technician
Mr. Murphy has been a part of the Lowham Walsh team for seven years.  He is responsible for reservoir siting and survey, and commonly assists in reservoir design. Bill conducts a variety of other field work related to water resource projects, and participates in the Streamgaging Program as well, collecting data and installing and maintaining equipment.

Kaitlin Oress, Ecological Technician
Ms. Oress received her B.S. in Environmental Science of Biology in 2009 from Muskingum College.  Her primary responsibilities are maintaining and operating multiple record stream flow monitoring stations in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming.  Kaitlin’s project experience includes field management of Lowham Walsh’s streamgaging program, and monthly flow measurements of the Powder River at 12 locations.  She is also in charge of measuring and reporting reservoir levels, volumes and water quality.

Matt Oress, Project Geologist
Mr. Oress received his B.S. in Geology and Earth Science with an emphasis in hydrology from Muskingum College in 2006. Matt’s professional experience includes municipal surface water management planning in the state of Ohio, large-scale stratigraphic studies in central Utah, and underwater petrologic research off the coast of Bimini. At Lowham Walsh, Matt is responsible for organizing and implementing environmental monitoring plans generally associated with solid waste management, reservoir siting and design, basin-scale streamgaging including soil and water quality sample collection, and permit compliance related to CBNG produced-water discharge, solid and hazardous waste management, and mineral resource development.

Mike Sanchez, Survey / CAD Technician
Mr. Sanchez received his B.S. in Emergency Medical Service from Creighton University in 1998.  He has worked as a field technician for Lowham Walsh since 1999, conducting site assessments and surveying for reservoir, channel, pad and irrigation design and construction staking. He also participates in the Streamgaging Program, making discharge measurements, installing and maintaining sampling station equipment and collecting data for step backwater and slope area discharge curves. Mike provides technical support in the office drafting and designing from survey data and preparing documents for permitting and construction.

Andrew Strike, General Manager
Mr. Strike has eleven years of experience in managing technical projects in the State as a private consultant.  Andy began surveying, designing, and permitting reservoirs for Federal Water Management Plans in the Powder River Basin as a contractor for Lowham Engineering LLC in 2000, and in 2005 he hired on full-time in Lowham’s Lander office, where he began managing operations. Andy was appointed as General Manager of Lowham Walsh LLC in 2010, and is responsible for day-to-day operations, contract administration, and client contact. He also performs project management for a multitude of ongoing activities, including: reservoir design, irrigation infrastructure analysis, geotechnical investigations, water-management solutions, streambank revetment, and reclamation.

Thomas Wilkinson, Project Engineer
Mr. Wilkinson received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Wyoming and later minored in secondary education with an emphasis on basic and advanced mathematics at Eastern Oregon State College, in LaGrande, Oregon. Prior to joining Lowham Walsh LLC (LWLLC), he spent nearly ten years in the technical industry designing navigation equipment, developing instruction manuals, providing technical support and quality assurance, and designing and programming test equipment. Tom currently manages all GIS analysis and mapping and is the lead for projects through a major oil and gas company in the Powder River Basin area in Wyoming. He also lends his professional skills to the bonding reservoirs through various state and federal agencies, the development of federal water management plans, and conducts water rights and reservoir data searches to recommend the best options available to clients.
